My name is Ben and I’m absolutely delighted to be coming to Olney to serve you as your next incumbent. I grew up in Wymington Beds, was educated there, at Harold and Sharnbrook Schools. I studied Government and Public Policy at Northumbria University. Prior to Ordination I worked in policing and as a Publican and as a local cllr. I trained for the priesthood at Ripon College Cuddesdon Oxon and served my curacy at St Mary’s Goldington in the St Albans Diocese. In 2017 I became Vicar of St Mark’s Wellingborough in the Peterborough Diocese. My passions are community, bridge building, inclusivity and church growth. I’m so looking forward to leading you in word and sacrament with your existing team, that we might love the Lord Jesus more deeply and follow him more nearly as a fellowship of Christian disciples, drawing others to know how deep the love of God is for them in Our Lord Christ Jesus. I shall move in during August and look forward to exercising ministry after my induction early in September. If you see me in the mean time walking the dogs please come and say hello and I look forward to getting to know you all over a coffee or a pint, and serving you in word and sacrament and pastoral care and encouragement in the very near future.
Revd. Ben Lewis
