The arrival of a new baby often sparks a desire to celebrate life and give thanks for God’s blessings. It is a wonderful time to celebrate with your loved ones.

We’d love to help you plan your child’s special service – please contact us if you’d like to know more.

When children are baptised their parents tend to be Christians themselves (although not always) and are usually committed to the Church community their child is baptised in. Three godparents will be needed, and they would be expected to have been baptised themselves. They make promises on behalf of your child and welcome them into the Church family, in the hope that the child will continue on the path of being a disciple of Jesus, supported by the Church community.

We can also baptise adults; please get in touch if this is something you’d be interested in as it’s a different process to the baptisms offered for children.

Both types of baptism are free. We hold baptisms for children on the second Sunday of the month, unless that Sunday falls on a special day in the Church calendar. Alternatively, baptisms can be held as part of a Communion service if you would prefer.
