Easter 2026 at St Peter and St Paul
We have a range of services all the way through Holy Week, starting with Palm Sunday and ending with the joyful service of Easter Day
Sunday 29th March
9:30am Walk of Witness from Cowper Memorial URC
10:00am Joint Communion service at St Peter & St Paul
Once again we are joining with Cowper Memorial URC for our Palm Sunday service. This year we will have a Walk of Witness from the Cowper Memorial URC on the High Street to our church, and then have a joint service for Palm Sunday here.
6:00pm Stations of the Cross
Throughout Lent we have 15 Stations of the Cross on display in the church for individual prayer and reflection. This evening we will have a service that takes us on a journey around the Stations.

“Service of darkness” – a Holy Week tradition where candles are gradually extinguished as we think about the events leading up to Good Friday
Thursday 2nd April
10:00am Morning Prayer with renewal of vows
A service of Morning Prayer for Maundy Thursday, including a renewal of vows for people involved in different forms of ministry in the church
7:00pm Maundy Thursday service
A service where we reflect on the Last Supper – the final meal that Jesus celebrated with his disciples. The service includes the tradition of foot washing.
8:00pm Watch at the Altar of Repose
A time commemorating the disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane, involving prayers, music and silence before the Altar of Repose – a place where the remaining bread and wine from the Communion service is left.
Friday 3rd April
10:00am – 11:30am Easter Egg Hunt
An Easter egg hunt for families with pre-/primary aged children, at the Catholic Church on West Street. Jointly organised by the churches of Olney.
12:00pm, 1:00pm, Time at the Cross
Opportunties for prayer and reflection on Good Friday, featuring readings and meditations.
2:00pm – 3:00pm Veneration of the Cross
A special service featuring prayers at the foot of the cross.
Saturday 4th April
9:00am Morning Prayer
A quiet service of Morning Prayer
11:00am Easter Garden making at the church
Help us to make our Easter Garden in the church porch – and make a small one to take home
Sunday 5th April
6:00am Dawn Service
This service begins outside the church with the lighting of an Easter fire, and concludes inside with a Service of Light.
7:00am Shared Breakfast in the Church Hall
Following our early morning service, we will gather for breakfast in the Church Hall
10:00am Easter Sunday service
